Yvonne (LaPierre) LaPlume

Yvonne Marie (LaPierre) LaPlume passed away in her home in Attleboro, Massachusetts on the 17th of September 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife for 55 years of William LaPlume.

She was born on December 2, 1949 In Attleboro, Massachusetts she was the Daughter of the late Emil and Rita LaPierre (Gareau).

Yvonne was a proud graduate of Attleboro High School. She worked in her family business at world wide optical. working along side her family was important to Yvonne, as family was the center of her world.

She was a dedicated and loyal wife, mother and friend. Yvonne had a strong faith and was a devoted catholic as a member of Saint John’s Church in Attleboro. Her faith and her ability to believe in miracles was one of the many things that made her so special. She found comfort in prayer and often went to church daily with her husband, William.

Yvonne was a talented artist who loved to quilt. She would spend hours walking through antique fabric stores finding the perfect fabrics she could transform. She also enjoyed watercolors, sitting in her back yard enjoying nature, and watching the animals. She was the epitome of true kindness, where even wild animals felt safe enough to eat right from her hands.

Her favorite memories are those she spent with her family. The holidays spent with family cooking and baking for a full table, or the summer days of camping, and spending time at the cottage on cape cod. She loved to read, and you could always find her with a book in her hand. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and raising her children. It was so important to her to be surrounded by her family and being around her always brought everyone a sense of comfort. Yvonne was a woman of unwavering dedication, and she poured love into every aspect of her life.

In addition to her Husband William, she is survived by her children Gregory (Rebecca) LaPlume, Michelle Nikolais, Nicole LaPlume, Daniel (Sara) Laplume, Monique (Grant) Dubuc, Emily (David) May; and her loving siblings, Robert LaPierre, Linda Dussault, and Nancy (Steve) McKinnon. She was the proud grandmother of 14 Grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday, September 24th, 2026 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at Duffy-Poule Funeral & Cremation Service, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held of Thursday, September 24th, 2026 at 11 am at St John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro

Interment will follow in St Stephen’s Cemetery, 683 So. Main Street, Attleboro.
