Attleboro, Massachusetts
Scott R. Allard, 56, formerly of Norton and South Attleboro, a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, died unexpectedly of congestive heart failure at home in Cowpens, SC, on January 14, 2013. He was the husband of Lynne Raposa Allard. Born on July 5, 1956 in Attleboro, MA, Scott was a son of the late George and Joan Leblanc Allard. He was educated in the Norton Public Schools.
Scott was the proud and loving father of three sons: Eric, Alex, and Stephen of South Attleboro. He was very excited at the expectation of becoming a grandfather this coming summer. Scott is also survived by his brother Keith Allard of Florida and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was the beloved brother of the late Glenn Allard.
Scott was employed as a tractor trailer driver for Hallsmith/Sysco in Norton for many years and had formed many life-long friendships. Prior to that, he was employed by Texas Instruments in Attleboro.
He loved watching professional football especially the NE Patriots, Sunday being a special family day. He enjoyed fishing and working around the yard. He was always ready with a helping hand for family and friends whether to fix an automobile, household appliance, or anything mechanical. He loved Van Morrison and had a newfound love of country music.
Scott had relocated to Cowpens, SC, in 2011. He enjoyed a slower-paced life, warmer weather, and a special circle of friends there while keeping in close touch with his family and friends here. He was a fun-loving person and leaves us all with many funny and happy memories. He leaves us much too soon to reunite with family members and many childhood friends. He will be sadly missed.
The family would like you to join us as we seek some form of closure on Sunday, January 27th from 1 to 4 pm in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Burial will be private at the Mt. Hope Cemetery & Arboretum in North Attleboro where he will be laid to rest with his brother Glenn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to: American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen Street, 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701.
