Maximiano R. de Almeida, was born on April 24, 1947 on the beautiful island of São Miguel, Azores, Portugal and passed away on February 5, 2024.
He was a humble soul who lived an extraordinary life, filled with love, dedication, and a passion for simplicity. Maximiano made his mark on this world not by grand gestures, but by the sincere and supportive nature he extended to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man who found joy in the ordinary - in the nurturing of plants, the crafting of wine, and the companionship of animals.
Maximiano is survived by his loving son, Kevin de Almeida and his wife Saulina Medeiros de Almeida of Attleboro; his grandson, Guilherme Medeiros de Almeida of Attleboro; granddaughter, Judite Medeiros de Almeida of Attleboro; his two sisters and three sisters-in-law’s; his Godson, Michael de Almeida of Florida and Goddaughter, Susana Sousa of Azores; he also leaves many nieces and nephews in the Attleboro area, Florida, São Miguel and Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, João Raposa de Almeida and Angelina da costa Carvalho, and his beloved wife, Maria Judite B de Almeida; his siblings, Leonel de Almeida and Antonietta Bettencourt; his in-laws, Armando Bettencourt, Juliana de Almeida, Manuel Claudino, Maria Lurdes Silva and Maria Georgina Massa.
Maximiano's life was greatly defined by his love for his wife, their son, and the grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. From his birthplace in Feteiras, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal to his long-settled home in Attleboro, Maximiano's journey was an embodiment of resilience, hard work, and an endless pursuit of happiness.
He began his career in manufacturing and was an integral part of the Guyot Bros Company in Attleboro for nearly 40 years until his retirement. His role as a machinist was not just a job but a testament to his dedicated work ethic. A proud Communicant of the former St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Attleboro, Maximiano was deeply rooted in his community, offering his support whenever and wherever it was needed. He will be remembered not only for his contributions to the industry, but also for his love for gardening and his craft in wine-making. His home on Ottawa Street was a testament to his love for nature and his knack for keeping everything in pristine shape.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the ICU unit at Sturdy Memorial Hospital for their diligence and to the Sturdy doctors and nurses who were beyond exceptional in comforting Maximiano and the family during such a difficult time.
