Marie “Babe” Y. (Lachance) Caldwell, 82, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on August 18, 2022.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George “Bud” Caldwell, her daughter Shannon and her son-in-law Jesse Aguiar of Attleboro, her son Keith Caldwell of Attleboro, her daughter Kelly Brousseau of Attleboro, and her daughter-in-law Catherine Calcagni of West Warwick.
Marie leaves a legacy of love, memories, and laughter with her 6 grandchildren, Corey Bush, Jillian Robillard and her boyfriend Daniel James, Mikaela Calcagni, Chelsea Calcagni, Lindsey Brousseau, Meghan McCluskey and her husband Scott, and her great-grandson Landen Brousseau. She was pre-deceased by her son Steven Calcagni, as well as her 4 siblings, Leo, Doris, Clair, and Lorette.
What Babe enjoyed most in life was her “kids”, her grandchildren, her great-grandson, and her littlest friend Charlee. She spent many years as the head of the kitchen at the family business, Dottie’s Caterers. She was an avid cook. She loved looking through cookbooks for new recipes to make, and cooking for the family during the holidays. She retired when her mother needed full-time care.
Babe’s hobbies included sewing, crocheting, scratch tickets, and puzzles on her iPad. She loved looking at Facebook to stay connected to all the people she met and loved along the way. She enjoyed spending time with her life-long friends Jean Fontneau, Lorna Cundall, and Barbara Harwood. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Even in the darkest days she always wanted to make everyone laugh. Whether it was by making a silly face, wearing something on her head that normally wouldn’t be, or by saying the most ridiculous things.
The family would like to thank the special people who supported Babe and gave their time freely to make her comfortable, Cindy Lowney, Chris Regula, and Lynnette McLaughlin. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she took her final journey to be reunited with her son Steven and the rest of her Family.
