Manuel Moniz

Manuel G. Moniz of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 74 years of age. Beloved husband of Oldemira (Ferreira) Moniz of 53 years. Son of the late Maria da Gloria (Soares) and Jose Moniz. Loving father of Nancy Castaneda of Pawtucket, RI; Christopher Moniz of Melbourne, FL; and the late Sandy Moniz. Cherished grandfather to Ashley Castaneda; Venessa Castaneda and her fiancé Mario Araujo; Brenden Castaneda; and Eamon Castaneda. Adored great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Maria daLuz Arruda, Leonilda Couto, Maria Moniz, Estofana Moniz and Jose Moniz.

Manuel was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He worked at Balfour Jewelers from 1968-1994 before he retired. He loved making wine and was truly a jack-of-all trades!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 5-8 PM at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. The funeral will be conducted on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 9 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 71 Linden St., Attleboro. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery, Attleboro.
