June Crosta

June Eileen (Crotty) Crosta, 90, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024 at her home in the Residence At Great Woods in Norton, MA. She was the wife of the late Ralph Edward Crosta who passed away on August 31, 2023.

Born June 1, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Alfreda (Jones) Crotty.

She attended the Plainville school system and graduated from Plainville High School Class of 1951 as class valedictorian. Following high school, she received her associates degree from Becker Junior College in 1953.

June happily stayed at home as a homemaker to raise her children. She was employed for a short time at Hilsinger Co., in Plainville. The job she had that she most loved was as the secretary to the Vice Principal at North Attleboro High School from which she retired from in 1998.

She was a communicant of Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at Saint Mary Church in North Attleboro where she was a member of the Women’s Guild and St. Vincent DePaul. Along with her husband she summered in Dennisport, MA and also wintered in Port Charlotte, FL. They also traveled to Bermuda, Aruba, the Bahamas and Harpswell, ME. Her most memorable trip was to Bangkok, Thailand.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamela Schmidt (Kevin) of No. Attleboro; a son, Timothy Crosta (Apple) of Harpswell, ME; her loving grandchildren, Trevin Schmidt (Danielle) of Wareham, MA, Trenna Roque (Nick) of Cumberland, RI, Brayden Crosta of South Portland, ME and Dani Crosta of Portland, ME. June’s immense pride was being “gramma” to her four grandchildren and being an extremely devoted mom to her children Tammi and Tim.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Residence at Great Woods for the compassion, support and love they showed to “Junebug” these past few years. As well as a special thank you to the staff at Compassionate Care Hospice in Taunton for guiding the family through her final days.
