Judith Ann Henriques, 80 years old, passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2022 in the home she loved and shared with her family for 50 years.
Born on July 10, 1942 in Attleboro MA. Judith was a lifelong resident of the Attleboro area. She graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1960. After staying home to raise four children, Judy worked as a bank teller for Attleboro Savings Bank and then for Interpay for over 15 years. There she developed lifelong friendships and had recently reconnected with her Interpay friends and was looking forward to many more lunch dates at Bliss Brothers.
Judy had a love of animals that was undeniable. She had many pets throughout her life. Two cats, Simba and Socks, and a dog, Ava, were her most recent beloved companions. She enjoyed the peaceful parts of life, watching the birds flock to one of her many bird feeders, reading the latest Danielle Steele novel, solving crossword puzzles and word searches, and keeping up to speed
with Jeopardy.
Most important to Judy was her family. She was the daughter of the late Lester Langton of Attleboro, MA and Leah (Bouchard) Langton of Norton, MA, a devoted wife to the late William Henriques of Attleboro and loving mother to four children, Steven Henriques and his wife Vicki of Chatham, MA, Stacey Despathy and her husband Brant of Duxbury, MA, Kimberly Sweeney and her husband Brian of Attleboro, MA, and Robyn Rodden and her husband Eric of North Attleboro, MA. Judy’s greatest passion lies with her ten grandchildren Steven, Eric, Kaylee, Riley, Madison, Alexandra, Parker, Jackson, Griffin, and William; four great grandchildren, Kaysen, Steven, Addison, Reese and one on the way. Judy was a friend and dear sister to Jean Fawcett of Drakes Branch, Virginia.
Married for over 50 years to the love of her life, Judy and Bill had a once in a lifetime relationship. Their unconditional love for each other guided them through their lives and in their roles as parents. Together with their children and eventually grandchildren, establishing traditions was important to them. The early years included hosting Christmas Eve with their closest friends, holidays in Rhode Island and Sunday night pizza from the Downtown. But whether it was summering in Chatham, cruising to the Caribbean or vacationing in Sanibel, she was happiest by the ocean. After Bill passed, Judy enjoyed weekly dinners with her children, shopping with her girls and keeping up with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The people who knew Judy will never forget her unwavering loyalty to her family, generosity and compassion. She had an infectious laugh that could fill a room, and a quiet confidence that guided her family. She led by example, never hesitating to add another plate to the dinner table or offer an empty bedroom to a friend in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. A private service and burial will be held.
