Joseph Aiello

–

Attleboro, Massachusetts

Joseph J. Aiello was born in the summer of 1935 on August 16 and passed away peacefully this spring on May 26, 2026. Joe lived and loved for 90 years.

Joe was proud to serve in the Army Reserves for approximately 3 years until he was discharged in 1961. He retired at age 70 after many decades as a dedicated and hard-working truck driver with Andy’s Express of Quincy. Joe exhibited his fun-loving side conducting the train at the Weymouth Twin Drive-In.

Joe was a responsible and dependable provider who was most proud of his children and grandchildren. Gramps enjoyed attending dance recitals, basketball camp, sports events, birthday parties and all the special events in his grandchildren’s lives. The family has fond memories of road trips, camping, watching and going to NASCAR racing. He was always the first to arrive one hour early to an event with his trademark bag of goodies and Friendly’s ice cream or jubilee roll. He will surely be missed.

Joe was predeceased by his mother, Augusta Beatrice Hollis and his brother Charles (Les) Aiello. He is survived by his wife Patricia (St. Pierre) Aiello, his brother Clinton Aiello, daughters Marianne (Aiello) Ford and husband Robert, Christine (Aiello) MacKean and husband Richard. He leaves his grandchildren Jeremy and Julianna Theberge, Matthew and Isabella Keefe, Kristina Greenberg, Jodi and Tyler Memmo, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on June 8, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. A Memorial Service will be held in loving memory of Joe at 6:30 p.m. immediately following visitation. Interment will take place privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

The family is grateful for the loving care Joe received at Mount St Rita Health Centre in Cumberland, RI.

During his lifetime, Joe generously donated to The Home for Little Wanders (https://www.thehome.org), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org), and Boy’s Town (https://boystown.org). In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation in his memory to your preferred charity.

Dad, thank you for all the great memories and amazing advice that we will never forget.

We all will try to live by your advice: “Be kind and be careful.”
