Mr. Hugh M. Nowick Jr. Obituary (1960

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Hugh M. Nowick Jr., 56, of North Attleboro, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, after a brave battle with cancer. Born on September 12, 1960, in Norwood, he was the devoted son of Phyllis (Laporte) Nowick and the late Hugh M. Sr. Hugh grew up in Walpole and he graduated in 1978 from Walpole High School. Hugh was a hard worker, holding various position of employment throughout his life. He was employed at Johnny’s Oil for over 13 years, he worked for 10 years at Robinson’s Supply in Plainville, and he also delivered newspapers for the Sun Chronicle and the Boston Globe for 21 years. In his spare time, Hugh remained active by playing both golf and soccer. He was an avid New England sports fan, with his favorite teams being the Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins. Above all, he valued being a dedicated and proud father to his two daughters, who were the loves of his life. In addition to his mother, Hugh is survived by his treasured daughters, Hannah and Jennifer Nowick, both of North Attleboro; his sister, Faith Diede of Buzzards Bay; his nephews, James, Zachary and Joshua Diede; his five great nieces and nephews; also many beloved friends, co-workers, and extended family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro. A private graveside service will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
