Helen-Frances Weldon

Helen-Frances “Fran” (Lavallee) Weldon of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the age of 68. She was the beloved wife of Douglas Weldon, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in Attleboro, Fran was the daughter of the late Maureen (Bellavance) Lavallee and Francis Richard Lavallee Jr. She was the loving mother of Meghan Mobley and her husband Eric of Attleboro, and Jaye Weldon and her husband John of Brockton. She was the cherished grandmother of John Michael and Aubrey, and the adored sister of Natalie Hiatt and her husband John of North Attleboro; Kate Haselton of Attleboro; Owen Lavallee and his wife Linda of Attleboro; and Rick Lavallee and his wife Kim of Attleboro.

A 1974 graduate of Bishop Feehan High School, Fran met Doug on the very first day of class. What began as friendship grew into a lifelong partnership and the foundation of a beautiful family.

Fran’s home was always open—she had a way of making everyone feel like family. Whether through a warm holiday gathering or a comforting, home-cooked meal, she created a sense of belonging for all.

Many of Fran’s weekends were selflessly spent driving her daughters all around New England and farther for tournaments, where she was their biggest cheerleader.

As a grandmother, she found her greatest joy in sharing stories, laughter, and moments of pride about John Michael and Aubrey.

Determined and inspired, Fran returned to college after a 30-year break, earning her undergraduate degree from Wheaton College to set an example of perseverance for her daughters. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—tenacious, loving, and endlessly giving.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 4 - 7:30pm at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral home service will immediately follow at 7:30 pm. Burial will take place privately at a later date.
