David Capraro

CAPRARO – David Edward, 63, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was the devoted husband for 38 years to Donna (Brown) Capraro of Attleboro; cherished father of Jeffrey Capraro of Attleboro and Amanda Dessert and her husband Dylan of Attleboro; adored grandfather of Arabelle Capraro and Talon Dessert both of Attleboro; brother of Thomas Capraro and his wife Denise of Eustis, ME, Daniel Capraro of Attleboro, Armando Capraro of Attleboro and Margaret Capraro of Smithfield, RI; he also leaves a cousin, Donna Marler of Destin, FL and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his two uncles John F. and Raymond Ferns.

Born on February 11, 1959 in Attleboro, MA he was a son of the late Armando and Gertrude (Ferns) Capraro.

David was a lifelong resident of Attleboro and was a graduate of Attleboro High School Class of 1977. He proudly worked for the City of Attleboro Firefighter Dept. and served his community for 25 years. David also worked at Metalor Refining for several years in the maintenance department.

He was a member of the Attleboro Elks Lodge #1014 and a member of the Attleboro Firefighters PFFM Local 848.

David was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed working on various home projects. He loved spending time at the beach, cooking and treasured family time, especially with his grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the City of Attleboro Firefighters and Police Departments, Mass General Hospital Lung Team, Dr. Steven Bensson and staff, Hope Health Hospice Care, Life Care Center of Attleboro and Sturdy Memorial Hospital for all the care and support provided to David.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4- 8 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Burial will take place privately at a later date.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. on October 15, 2022 at the Attleboro Elks Lodge #1014, 887 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA
