Beulah B. Lopes February 2, 1932 – July 28, 2026
Beulah B. (Reed) Lopes, a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother, passed away after a short illness on July 28, 2026, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was 94 and was surrounded by her loving children during her final hours. Beulah was the beloved wife of the late Manuel “Manny” Lopes, who passed away in 2022 with Beulah by his side, honoring their remarkable 71 years of marriage.
Born at home in Rehoboth, MA, Beulah was the 14th of 15 children born to Myron and Elsie (Goff) Reed. After completing her schooling, she worked at the Warren Handkerchief Company and later at Swank Inc. in Attleboro, where she met Manny.
Beulah and Manny married on June 30, 1951, and settled into their lifelong home in Attleboro. Together they raised five children, with Beulah dedicating herself as a fulltime homemaker. Family was the center of her life, and she and Manny shared a deep commitment to always being present for their children, extended family, and friends.
Beulah found joy in tending her flower and vegetable gardens, listening to country music, and playing games such as Rummy and Parcheesi. Visits from her children almost always included many rounds of Parcheesi, which delighted her. She had a special love for animals, especially her cherished chihuahuas — most recently her loyal companion Tazzy, who never left her side.
Beulah’s greatest wish was to remain in the comfort of her home throughout her life. Thanks to the devoted care provided by her daughter Judy, who lived with her, she was able to enjoy the peace and familiarity of home until the day she was brought to the hospital, where she passed only hours later.
She is survived by her five children: Manny Lopes of Northborough, MA; Judy Lopes of Attleboro, MA; Michael Lopes of Mansfield, MA; Karen Mondillo of Belle Fourche, SD; and Valerie Lopes of North Attleboro, MA.
She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Justin Lopes of Kauai, HI, and Jessica Carmichael of Belle Fourche, SD; and two greatgrandchildren, Cory and Aeliana Carmichael, also of Belle Fourche, SD.
Beulah was predeceased by her fourteen siblings.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 PM all held at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. Burial will follow at Stevens Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth, MA.
