Mrs. Barbara J. Middleton

NORTON – Barbara J. Middleton, 78, of Norton, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Wingate at Norton. She was the beloved wife of Rev. Robert G. Middleton, Jr. of Norton.

Born on February 19, 1940 in Yakima, Washington she was a daughter of the late John C. and Jane (Jaccard) Dodge.

Barbara received her Master of Religious Education degree from American Baptist Seminary of the West.

She was employed as a social worker at the North Attleboro Council of Aging, Second Congregational Church in Attleboro and the First Baptist Church of Fall River.

Barbara enjoyed reading, quilting, crafting and gardening. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in North Attleboro.

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her son, Major Robert J. Middleton and his wife Tieia of Las Vegas, NV; her daughter, Laura J. Henckler and her husband Adam of York, ME; her five grandchildren and her brother, Richard Dodge of Puyallup, WA.

The Middleton family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and direct care staff at Wingate at Norton and also the West River Hospice for all of their care and attention given to Barbara.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, officiated by Rev. Bernie Hinckley and Rev. Jeffrey Long Middleton on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 2 Pine Street, Norton, MA.
