Alfred Turcotte

–

Solon, Maine

Alfred Joseph Turcotte, known commonly as “Fred”, passed peacefully at the age of 71
on Monday, October 12, 2026. Fred faced some health challenges over the last years
but faced each day with the courage and humor he was known for. Fred was born and
raised in Attleboro, MA but called Maine his home for the last 28 years.

Fred leaves behind his only daughter, Alexis Turcotte, and her fiancé and longtime
partner, Erik Anderson, his grandson, Aiden Anderson, and his granddaughter, Avari
Anderson, all of Southbridge, MA. Fred was the youngest of 5 siblings and leaves
behind his brothers Robert Turcotte of Attleboro, Roger Turcotte of South Attleboro, and
Richard Turcotte of Kentucky. He is predeceased by his sister Irene Flanagan of
Attleboro and his parents Rita and Leo Turcotte of Attleboro. Fred has a number of
nieces and nephews. Fred also leaves behind his longtime girlfriend, Chrystal Foster,
longtime friend Cheryl Shaw, and many other friends in both Maine and Massachusetts.

Fred served in the Armed Forces and retired after 21 years in the Army National Guard.
He was a jack of all trades and worked in sales, repaired and flipped houses, and most
recently worked with adults providing support in their homes. Fred was officially retired
at the time of his passing, but still found ways to keep himself busy.

Fred had a joyful demeanor and made friends everywhere he went. He liked to tell
stories and his daughter and grandchildren loved his funny, tall tales and will remember
the joy they brought to them and him. When he visited his grandchildren he made sure
to bring his “crazy pills” (candy PEZ) and share. He loved classic cars and being on a
motorcycle. He was an avid coin collector.

In lieu of a funeral, a get together with family and friends will be held in the spring of
2027 at Fred’s cabin in Solon, Maine. All are welcome to attend. Please contact
Duffy-Poule Funeral Home in Attleboro if interested in attending and they will give your
contact information to Fred’s daughter Alexis so that the date and time can be shared.
You may reach the funeral home at 508-222-0193.
