Mrs. Agueda Ventura

STOUGHTON- Agueda Ventura, 87, of Stoughton formerly of Attleboro passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late John Ventura.

Born on February 22, 1928 in the St. Michael, Azores she was a daughter of the late Alfredo and Maria Raposo.

Mrs. Ventura was employed by the Makepiece Co. for many years and retired from Engelhard Co. after 15 years of service.

Mrs. Ventura was highly involved with the former Holy Ghost Church, now the St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Attleboro. She helped many new immigrants from the Azores by settling down and finding employment. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her retired years she enjoyed visiting the Island of Maderia and the Azores.

Mrs. Ventura is survived by her three sons, Joseph Craveiro of North Attleboro, Carl Craveiro of Chicago, IL and Ernest Ventura of Attleboro; a step-son, John Ventura of Attleboro; two step-daughters, Mary Marquis of Attleboro and Dolores Raposa of Attleboro; her siblings, Noe Barboza of Taunton, Eduarda Dealmeida of Fort Myers, FL and Inez Demedeiros of Attleboro; seven grandchildren, Mark, Timothy and Christina Medeiros and Carlos, Jason, Christopher and Rachel Craveiro ; five great grandchildren, Nathan, Ashley and Shauna Robert and Camden and Calin Craveiro; also many nieces and nephew.

She was the sister of the late Joe Medeiros and Fernanda Bettencourt

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street Attleboro.

A funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10 a.m. from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 71 Linden Street, Attleboro. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Cemetery, Attleboro.
