Mr. Joseph John Bono Obituary (1925

ATTLEBORO – Joseph J. Bono, 91, of Attleboro, MA passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Golden Living Center of Attleboro, MA. He was the loving husband of Anna M. (Kudrnac) Bono of Attleboro. Born January 2, 1925 in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late John J. and Mary (Crecca) Bono. Joseph grew up in Attleboro. He served in the United States Army during WWII as a Flight Officer in the 112th Army Air Force Base Unit. Upon his discharge from the military Joseph earned a Master’s Degree in History. His greatest passion was music and Joseph made a career as first a music teacher in Attleboro and eventually the Director and Department Head of Attleboro High School Music Program from 1953 to 1985. Over the years Joseph played the clarinet with the Attleboro Concert Band, he was a member of the orchestra for Norton Singers, the Chaminade Opera Group, and Director for the Attleboro Octave Chorus and was on the Board of Directors of the Celebrity Nights. Joseph’s other pastimes included woodworking and carpentry. He enjoyed spending time at his summer home in Westport, MA, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his son Paul and his wife Linda of Attleboro, daughter Cynthia Ciavola of Mission Viejo, CA; daughter Ruth Sheehan and her husband Michael of Bothell, WA; son Christopher and his wife Cynthia of Staunton, VA; and six grandchildren, Emily Ciavola, Lauren Ciavola, Alison Bono, Carla Hodges, Rebekah Bono and Natalie Bono; and three great-grandchildren, Liam and Paige Nuttall and Benjamin Hodges. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Frank Bono Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 4-8 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Wednesday , August 17, 2016 at 9:00 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 AM, in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro.
