Dianne Ferreira Obituary (1954 - 2020)

Dianne Marie (Rivard) Ferreira, 66, of Taunton, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Morton Hospital. She was the devoted wife to Ramiro J. Ferreira Jr. and loving mother to Jennifer Ferreira, both of Taunton. Born on November 12, 1954 in Attleboro MA, she was the daughter of the late Leon Charles Sr. and Marie Rita (Cooper) Rivard. Dianne grew up in Attleboro and was a graduate of Attleboro High School, class of 1972. She spent the summers of her younger years at the family beach house in Chatham, MA. Dianne worked at the Kozy Kitchen, the small Attleboro restaurant founded by her parents, Charlie and Marie. She was later employed by Reeves Company, and then Swank Inc., where she met her husband, Ray. She and her husband moved from Attleboro and settled with their family in Taunton in 1978. Dianne was a voracious reader and an avid lover of history, politics, and current events. She loved to tell stories about the family and was so wonderful at keeping memories alive. She was a strong advocate for adoption, having adopted her daughter, Jennifer, and supported other family and friends in their own adoption journeys. Dianne loved animals, especially her pet cats and dogs. She loved music, notably Neil Diamond and Elton John, and her favorite treat was Bliss Brothers chocolate ice cream. Dianne loved to cook and to draw and to write short stories, even once having a story published in a children’s magazine. But most of all, Dianne loved being a mom and was deeply dedicated to her family. In addition to her husband, Ramiro, and her daughter, Jennifer, Dianne is survived by her brothers Roland Rivard and his wife Jeanne of Houston, TX, Leon Rivard of MA, her sister-in-law Anita Millard of Port Sanilac, MI, and by many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Dianne was the sister of the late Kevin John Rivard of Port Richey, FL. Services will be held for Dianne at a later date.
